POS1417 DO SOCIAL FACTORS IMPACT ON BIOLOGICS COSTS IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS? RESULTS FROM THE MOROCCAN RBSMR REGISTRY
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Objectives: The aim of this study was to estimate the annual direct cost biologics in rheumatoid arthritis and evaluate impact social factors on biological use costs. Methods: Patients Moroccan register biologicals (RBSMR) with available 1-year data were included. Variables related socio-economic status, disease collected. Direct costs included prices biologics, infusions, subcutaneous injections. Biological compared based factors. Results: Our 197 patients (female sex 86.8%, mean age 52.3 ± 11 years). one following therapies: Rituximab (n=132), Tocilizumab (n=37) or TNF-blockers (n=28). 44.2% have RAMED medical assistance (health insurance scheme for economically underprivileged). Illiteracy noted 45.7% cases. Median one-year per patient €1,665 [€1,472 - €9,879]. There no statistically significant difference between men women (p>0.05), illiterate literate (p>0.05). a other health insurances (p<0.01). Conclusion: This showed that RA had equal access regardless their gender level education. Indeed, system influence biologics. Accessibility those expensive treatments developing country seems be explained by efforts ministry who has allocated substantial budget biologic DMARDs tertiary structures our country. Rheumatoid arthritis: an evolutionary force in biologics.
The advent of biologic therapy has transformed the outcomes of patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), but has also highlighted important issues for their development. Early attempts at T-cell driven therapies gave mixed results with difficulties extrapolating from non-human models to first in man trials. There is currently one T-cell modulating therapy - abatacept - licenced for use in RA. Cy...
متن کاملComment on: Modelling the cost effectiveness of TNF antagonists in the management of rheumatoid arthritis: results from the British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Registry.
SIR, We thank Dr Von Vollenhoven for his interest in our paper. The questions [1] he raises about our article that examined the cost–effectiveness of biologics using the British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Registry (BSRBR) [2] provide an excellent opportunity to describe why decision modelling should be used in calculating a majority of cost–effectiveness ratios. We refer to an article b...
متن کاملTreatment Persistence and Healthcare Costs Among Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Changing Biologics in the USA
INTRODUCTION After a patient with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) fails tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi) treatment, clinical guidelines support either cycling to another TNFi or switching to a different mechanism of action (MOA), but payers often require TNFi cycling before they reimburse switching MOA. This study examined treatment persistence, cost, and cost per persistent patient among MOA s...
